Ο Μπράιαν Τζόουνς (αγγλ. Lewis Brian Hopkin Jones‎‎, 28 Φεβρουαρίου 1942 - 3 Ιουλίου 1969) ήταν Άγγλος μουσικός και ιδρυτής του συγκροτήματος Rolling Stones. Υπήρξε βιρτουόζος στην κιθάρα και τη φυσαρμόνικα, και ήταν ικανός να παίζει ακόμα 29 μουσικά όργανα, στα οποία πέρα από το κλαρινέτο και το σαξόφωνο, ήταν αυτοδίδακτος. Η καινοτόμα χρήση ανατολίτικων μουσικών οργάνων όπως το σιτάρ και η μαρίμπα, που εισήγαγε ο Μπράιαν, άλλαξε αποφασιστικά τον ήχο της ροκ σκηνής. Η θέση που κατέχει στην ιστορία της μουσικής είναι εξέχουσα, όμως εμφανώς υποτιμημένη σε σύγκριση με τη συνεισφορά του.

Σύμφωνα με τον Andrew Loog Oldham στο βιβλίο του Stone Alone, ο Μπράιαν ήταν αουτσάιντερ από την αρχή. Καταρχάς είχε συμφωνήσει να πληρώνεται περισσότερο από τα άλλα μέλη, χωρίς εκείνοι να το ξέρουν. Επιπλέον, από τις πρώτες κιόλας περιοδείες το 1963, δηλαδή όταν δεν ήταν ιδιαίτερα γνωστοί, εκείνος ταξίδευε χώρια από τους υπόλοιπους, έμενε σε άλλα ξενοδοχεία και είχε επιπλέον απαιτήσεις. Χαρακτηρίζει τον Μπράιαν ως έναν άνθρωπο ιδιαίτερα συναισθηματικό, που ένιωσε αποξενωμένος μόνο και μόνο επειδή δεν ήταν παραγωγικός συνθέτης και επειδή έπαψε να τους μανατζάρει. Εξ’ αρχής αντιστάθηκε στη επαγγελματική συμβίωση που απαιτούσε η σωστή λειτουργία ενός συγκροτήματος. Μέρα με τη μέρα, η ζωή γινόταν όλο και χειρότερη γι’ αυτόν, όμως κανείς δεν ευχόταν να σπάσει.

Αν και ιδρυτής των Rolling Stones το 1962 και βασικός διαμορφωτής του ήχου τους, σύντομα επισκιάστηκε από τον κιθαρίστα του συγκροτήματος Κιθ Ρίτσαρντς και από τον τραγουδιστή Μικ Τζάγκερ, ιδιαίτερα όταν οι δυο τους έγιναν πολύ πετυχημένη συνθετική ομάδα το 1965. Η αίσθηση της αποξένωσης από το συγκρότημά του και ο τρόπος ζωής των ροκ σταρ τον οδήγησαν στο να αναπτύξει σοβαρό εθισμό στο αλκοόλ και τα ναρκωτικά. Έκανε χρήση LSD και χασίς, όμως αυτό που τον αλλοίωσε ήταν το αλκοόλ. Αυτή η υπερβολή στο αλκοόλ είχε αρνητικές επιπτώσεις στη φυσική κατάσταση του Μπράιαν, με αποτέλεσμα να χρειαστεί να νοσηλευτεί πολλές φορές. Χειρότερη επίπτωση, όμως είχε στην προσωπικότητά του.Ο ρόλος του στο συγκρότημα υποβαθμίστηκε δραματικά. Του ζητήθηκε να εγκαταλείψει τους Rolling Stones τον Ιούνιο του 1969. Βρέθηκε νεκρός στην πισίνα του σπιτιού του στο Σάσεξ, λίγες μέρες μετά.

Christa Päffgen (German pronunciation: [ˈkʁɪsta ˈpɛfɡn̩]; 16 October 1938 – 18 July 1988), known by her stage name Nico, was a German singer, songwriter, actress and model.

Nico had roles in films including Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita (1960) and Andy Warhol's Chelsea Girls (1966). At the insistence of Warhol, she sang lead on three songs of the Velvet Underground's debut album, The Velvet Underground & Nico (1967). At the same time, she released her debut album, Chelsea Girl (1967), composed of songs written by other musicians. At the suggestion of her friend Jim Morrison, she started writing her own material, using a harmonium, not traditionally a rock instrument. John Cale of the Velvet Underground became her musical arranger and produced The Marble Index (1968), Desertshore (1970), The End... (1974) and other albums.

In the 1980s, Nico toured extensively in Europe, United States, Australia and Japan. After a concert in Berlin in June 1988, she went on holiday in Ibiza, where she died from a cerebral haemorrhage following a bicycling accident.

A style icon and "It girl" of the 1960s and 1970s, Pallenberg was credited as the muse of the Rolling Stones: she was the romantic partner of the Stones multi-instrumentalist Brian Jones and later, from 1967 to 1980, the partner of Stones guitarist Keith Richards, with whom she had three children.
